A G
Ten thousand words swarm around my head
       D A G D
Ten million more in books written beneath my bed

I wrote or read them all when searchin in the swarms
                                          A G D
Still cant find out how to hold my hands

A G D
And I know you need me in the next room over
                                              A G D
But I am stuck in here all paralyzed
       A G
For months I got myself in ruts
               D A G D
Too much time spent in mirrors framed in yellow walls

A G D
Aint it like most people? Im no different
                                                                 A G D
We love to talk on things we dont know about
A G D
Aint it like most people? Im no different
                                                                A G D
We love to talk on things we dont know about

The pattern continues through all of the verses and through some great solos, have fun!

About the artist behind Ten Thousand Words:

The Avett Brothers are a folk-rock band that originated in Concord, North Carolina. The band is made up of two brothers, Seth Avett and Scott Avett who play the guitar and banjo, respectively, and Bob Crawford, who plays the stand-up bass. They are often joined on tour by cellist Joe Kwon. Risen from the ashes of Seth and Scott's former rock band Nemo, The Avett Brothers combine old-time country, punk, pop melodies, folk, rock and roll, honky tonk and ragtime to produce a sound described by the San Francisco Chronicle as having the "Heavy sadness of Townes Van Zandt, the light pop concision of Buddy Holly, the tuneful jangle of the Beatles, the raw energy of the Ramones." The group themselves eschews labels, feeling that "none would do the music the justice. It's simply left up to each person to extract his or her own account from the Avett's music."

In the past year, The Avett Brothers have gone from relative unknowns to the poster children of a brand new and rapidly growing genre of American music. And while critics and fans alike have trouble agreeing on just what that genre should be called (indie roots, folk-punk, grungegrass, the list goes on and on), no one seems to have any trouble agreeing on the fact that The Avett Brothers are taking American roots music to brand new and exciting places.

Their live performances showcase their use of three-part harmony and southern rock feel, and are admired for being intense, energetic, and soulful.

The band are currently signed to Ramseur Records, based in Concord, NC. Other artists on the label include The Everybodyfields, Bombadil, Martin Stephenson and Samantha Crain & the Midnight Shivers.
