Gmaj
No I'm not color blind

I just can't sleep on this tonight

Gmmaj7 D/F#
Stop this train I want to get off and go home again
                            E9
I can't take the speed it's moving in, I know I can't
    Gsus2/A A7 Am7 A9 (Dsus2 Dmaj13 Bm9/D Asus2/D) x2
But honest - ly won't someone stop this train

[Verse 2]

Don't know how else to say it, don't want to see my parents go
Gmaj
One generation's length away
                                 Dsus2 Dmaj13 Bm9/D Asus2/D
From fighting life out on my own

Stop this train I want to get off and go home again
                            E9
I can't take the speed it's moving in, I know I can't
    Gsus2/A A7 Am7 A9 (Dsus2 Dmaj13 Bm9/D Asus2/D) x2
But honest - ly won't someone stop this train

So scared of getting older
                       Dsus2 Dmaj13 Bm9/D Asus2/D
I'm only good at being young
Gmaj Dsus2 Dmaj13 Bm9/D Asus2/D
So I play the numbers game to find away to say that life has just begun
Gmaj
Had a talk with my old man

Said help me understand
D/F# E7
He said turn 68, you'll renegotiate

      Gmmaj7
Don't stop this train
                              D/F#
Don't for a minute change the place you're in
                            E9
Don't think I couldn't ever understand, I tried my hand
      Gsus2/A A7 Am7 A9 (Dsus2 Dmaj13 Bm9/D Asus2/D) x2
John, honest - ly we'll never stop this train

[Bridge]

    G A11 G/B
See once in a while when it's good
      Em13/C# G
It'll feel like it should
            A11 G/B
And they're all still around
           Em13/C# G
And you're still safe and sound
        A11 G/B
And you don't miss a thing
         Em13/C# Dadd4 Am9 Em9
'til you cry when you're driving a - way in the dark.

[Chorus]

        Gmmaj7 D/F#
Singing stop this train I want to get off and go home again
                             E9
I can't take this speed it's moving in, I know I can't
      Gsus2/A A7 Am7 A9 Dsus2 Dmaj13 Bm9/D Asus2/D
Cause now I see I'll never stop this train

John Clayton Mayer (surname pronunciation: /ˈmeɪ.jɜr/[1]) (born October 16, 1977) is an American singer-songwriter. Originally from Connecticut, he attended Berklee College of Music before moving to Atlanta, Georgia, in 1998, where he refined his skills and gained a following. In 2003, he won a Best Male Pop Vocal Performance Grammy for "Your Body Is a Wonderland".

Mayer began his career performing mainly acoustic rock and pop, but gradually began a transition towards the blues genre in 2005 by collaborating with renowned blues artists such as B. B. King and Eric Clapton, and by forming the John Mayer Trio. The blues influence can be heard on his album Continuum, released in September 2006. At the 49th Annual Grammy Awards in 2007 Mayer won Best Pop Vocal Album for Continuum and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for "Waiting on the World to Change". Mayer's career pursuits have extended to stand-up comedy, design, and writing; he has written pieces for magazines, most notably for Esquire. He is also involved in philanthropic activities through his "Back to You" fund and his concern over global warming.
