        The track is based in G , and the 5 minute solo used mainly
the G minor pentatonic scale. I suggest practicing the sliding intro
with your finger first and then get out the bottleneck. Also it's
a good idea to rig your electronic tuner (you do have one?) up so
that when you play the guitar a bend a note you can see how close you get
, you should get a power supply for your tuner so you can turn it on
permanantly when your amp is switched on . This really does improve
you pitch. It is vital that you get the right pitch of the notes with
the slide or it sounds useless. Also add a bit vibrato with the slide
for extra effect. You only need a little bit distortion and not to much
for the solo either. Okay here 'tis.

Thats the main song covered , this repeats a few times and then when
come to the outro section . You can take your slide of now and
change to some rhythm playing and then it's the solo.
oh yes this is where there is some slight phasing , but also it's
switched off for the main body of the solo and gradually builds up
into the end section.

        Now the solo comes in , you guitar should not be totally
screaming for this but should have plenty of gain giving a good impact
the solo is very energetic , in the 2nd and 3rd sections notice
how the feel and timing slightly changed , I am only going to cover
the first part.

About the artist behind Free Bird Tab:

Lynyrd Skynyrd (pronounced /ˌlɛnɚdˈskɪnɝd/,Leh-Nerd Skin-Nerd) is an American Southern rock band. The band became prominent in the Southern United States in 1973, and rose to worldwide recognition before several members, including lead vocalist and primary songwriter Ronnie Van Zant, were killed in a plane crash in 1977 near McComb, Mississippi. A tribute band was formed in 1987 for a reunion tour with Johnny Van Zant, Ronnie's younger brother, at the helm, and continues to record music today.

The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 13, 2006, with members Gary Rossington and Billy Powell, former members Ed King, Bob Burns, and Artimus Pyle, and deceased members Ronnie Van Zant, Allen Collins, Steve Gaines, and Leon Wilkeson.
