Plump Chords

                             PLUMP by Hole
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The trick here is that funky upstroke/downstroke strumming pattern which is probably the
only difficult part to playing this song. The upstroke/downstroke is on an F#m barre
chord, and the trick is to alternate between lifting your index finger off and then
placing it back on the fret (listen to the song for timing). Other than that, it's all fairly
simple chords. It sounds like Courtney Love is probably playing an open A chord on that
main riff, while Eric Erlandson's playing a barre chord. Note that during the bridge
(the "do you fake it for me" part), there is one guitar quietly strumming the chords and
another one playing arpeggios.

Tuning: Standard

Intro:

F#m A E

F#m A E
He shakes his dead rattle

F#m A E
Spittle on his bib

F#m A E
And I don't do the dishes

F#m A E
I throw them in the crib

E5 D5
      I'm eating you

E5 D5
      I'm overfed

E5 D5
      Your milk's in my mouth

E5 D5
      It makes me sick

F#m A E
And I've stumbled here

F#m A E
Failed to make it mine

F#m A E
They say I'm plump

F#m A E
But I throw up all the time

E5 D5
      I'm eating you

E5 D5
      I'm overfed

E5 D5
      Your milk's in my mouth

E5 D5
      It makes me sick

B G
Do you fake it

B G
For me like I...

B G
Do you fake it

B G
For me like I...

B G
Do you fake it

B G
For me like I...

F#m A E
My baby's in her arms

F#m A E
Crawlin' up her legs

F#m A E
Like a liar at a witch trial

F#m A E
You look good for age

E5 D5
      I'm eating you

E5 D5
      I'm overfed

E5 D5
      Your milk's in my mouth

E5 D5
      It makes me sick

About the artist behind Plump Chords:

Hole was an alternative rock band that formed in Los Angeles in 1989 and disbanded in 2002. The band was fronted by Courtney Love, and co-founded by Love, Eric Erlandson (lead guitar) and Lisa Roberts (bassist and Love's neighbor who dropped the project very early on). The band had a brief period as a three-guitar lineup, with the musician Errol Stewert, but the lineup that recorded the first album included only Love, Erlandson, bassist Jill Emery and drummer Caroline Rue. Rue was fired in 1992 and Emery left soon after, to be replaced by Leslie Hardy and Patty Schemel, respectively. Hardy left after recording just one single with the band, "Beautiful Son", and was subsequently replaced by Kristen Pfaff in 1993. After Pfaff died of an apparent drug overdose in 1994, Melissa Auf der Maur took her place from 1995 until the band's dissolution in 2002. When Schemel left the band in 1998, Samantha Maloney took her place as drummer. On VH1's countdown of the 100 Greatest Hard Rock Bands Hole was number 77.[1]
