The Soft Parade Tab (ver 2) - Doors

The Soft Parade Tab
standard tuning-play as follows

(Jim Morrison Spoken Word)

Harpsichord intro adapted for guitar in Harpsichord/Piano absence; clean tone

just play over and over again and the fill about midway in this part is as follows:

--2po0-ho2-------------------------------------] *********************
-----------2----------2---------2--------------] **continued below**
-----------------------------------------------] *********************

ho=Hammer on    po=Pull off

then continue riff 1 until section switch

Next section-section 2; Use mild chorus and heavy phaser

repeat as needed

solo riff is quite simple; as follows

skip softer part-no guitar

main riff-slight overdrive

-2-----2-----2 2ho5-5po2-----2----]

listen to recording-tempo changes faster-when it does this riff can be substituted-
see song for exact timing

The chord is known as the Hendrix Chord-it is a dominant 7#9 chord-it is refered
to as the Hendrix Chord because it is most famously used in Jimi Hendrix's song Purple Haze

for a live ending of the song, just slow down the tempo after the end on the
recording to about 20 bpm, then just have the drummer smash the cymbols and guitar/
bass/keyboard play an E chord

About the artist behind The Soft Parade Tab:

The Doors were an influential American rock band formed in 1965 in Los Angeles by vocalist Jim Morrison, keyboardist Ray Manzarek, drummer John Densmore, and guitarist Robby Krieger. They were a controversial band, due mostly to Morrison's cryptic lyrics and unpredictable stage persona. The band dissolved in 1972, one year after Morrison's death in 1971. They have sold over 45 million albums in the US alone, and still sell approximately 1 million annually.
