Intro: [Em],[Dsus2/F#].[G].[Asus2]

[Em]Every time we do [Dsus2/F#]this
I [G]fall for [Asus2]her
[Em]Wave after wave after [Dsus2/F#]wave
It's [G]all for [Asus2]her
[Em]I know this can't be [Dsus2/F#]wrong i say
and i'll [G]lie to keep her happy
As [Asus2]long as i know that you [Em]know
That today i [Dsus2/F#]belong
Right here with [G]you
[Asus2]Right here with you...
And so [Em]we watch the sun come up
From the [Dsus2/F#]edge of the deep green [G]sea [Asus2]
And she [Em]listens like her head's on [Dsus2/F#]fire
Like she [G]wants to believe in [Asus2]me
So i [Em]try
Put your [Dsus2/F#]hands in the [G]sky [Asus2]
We'll be [G]here forever
And we'll [Asus2]never say goodbye...

[Em]I've never [Bm]been so
Colourfully-[Cadd9]see-through-[Asus2]head before
[Em]I've never [Bm]been so
[Em]And all i [Bm]want is to keep it like [Cadd9]this
You and me [Asus2]alone
A secret [Em]kiss
And don't go [Bm]home
Don't go [Cadd9]away
Don't let this [Asus2]end
Please [Em]stay
[Dsus2/F#],[G],[Asus2]Not just for [Em]today

[Em]Never never never never [Bm]never never never never [Cadd9]never let me [Asus2]go she says
[Em]Hold me like this for a [Bm]hundred thousand [Cadd9]million days [Asus2]
But suddenly she [Em]slows
And looks down at my [Bm]breaking face
[Cadd9]Why do you cry? [Asus2]what did i say?
But [Em]it's just rain i [Bm]smile
[Cadd9]Brushing my tears [Asus2]away...

[Bm] I wish i could just [Cadd9]stop
I know another [Dsus2]moment will break my [Em]heart
Too many [Bm]tears
Too many [Cadd9]times
Too many [Dsus2]years i've cried [Em]over you

[Em]How much more can we [Dsus2/F#]use it up?
[G]Drink it dry?
[Asus2]Take this drug?
[Em]Looking for something [Dsus2/F#]forever gone
But [G]something
We will [Asus2]always want?

[Em]Why why [Bm]why are you letting me [Cadd9]go? she says[Asus2]
[Em]I feel you pulling [Bm]back
I feel you [Cadd9]changing shape...[Asus2]
[Em]And just as i'm breaking [Bm]free
She [Cadd9]hangs herself in [Asus2]front of me
[Em]Slips her dress like a [Bm]flag to the floor
And [Cadd9]hands in the sky
[Asus2]Surrenders it all...

[Bm]I wish i could just [Cadd9]stop
I know another [Dsus2]moment will break my [Em]heart
Too many [Bm]tears
Too many [Cadd9]times
Too many [Dsus2]years i've cried for [Em]you
It's always the [Bm]same
Wake up in the [Cadd9]rain
Head in [Dsus2]pain
Hung in [Em]shame
A different [Bm]name
Same old [Cadd9]game
Love in [Dsus2]vain
And miles and miles and miles and miles and miles
Away from home again...

About the artist behind From The Edge Of The Deep Green Sea Chords:

The Cure are an English rock band that formed in Crawley, Sussex in 1976. The band have experienced several lineup changes, with frontman, guitarist and main songwriter Robert Smith—known for his iconic wild hair, pale complexion, smudged lipstick and frequently gloomy and introspective lyrics—being the only constant member.

The members of The Cure first started releasing music in the late 1970s. Their first album, Three Imaginary Boys (1979), and early singles placed them as part of the post-punk and New Wave movements that had sprung up in the wake of the punk rock revolution in the United Kingdom. During the early 1980s the band's increasingly dark and tormented music helped form the gothic rock genre. After the release of 1982's Pornography, the band's future was uncertain and frontman Robert Smith was keen to move past the gloomy reputation his band had cultivated. With the 1982 single "Let's Go to Bed" Smith began to inject more of a pop sensibility into the band's music. The Cure's popularity increased as the decade wore on, especially in the United States, where the songs "Just Like Heaven", "Lovesong" and "Friday I'm in Love" entered the Billboard Top 40 charts. By the start of the 1990s, The Cure were one of the most popular alternative rock bands in the world and have sold an estimated 27 million albums as of 2004.[1] As of 2007, The Cure have released twelve studio albums and over thirty singles, with a thirteenth album due in September 2008.
