Night Ranger - Goodbye

G B C E
As the sun hides his head for another night's rest

D C D G
And the wind sings his same old song

G B C E
And you on the edge never close never far

D C D G
Always there when I needed a friend

E D C
But it's hard living life on this memory-go-round

E D C
Always up always down spinning round & round & round

D G B C E
And all this could be such a dream so it seems

D C D G
I was never much good at goodbye

G B C E D C D G

G B C E
There once was a time never far from my mind

D C D G
On a beach on the Fourth of July

G B C E
I remember the sand how you held out your hand

D C D G
And we touched for what seemed a lifetime

E D C
But it's hard leaving all this behind me now

E D C
Like a schoolboy so lost never found until now

D G B C E
And all this could be such a dream so it seems

I was never much good at goodbye

About the artist behind Goodbye:

Night Ranger is an American rock band formed in San Francisco, California that gained significant popularity during the 1980s with a series of successful albums and singles.[1] The band's first five albums sold over 10 million copies worldwide, and gave the band international recognition.[1] The quintet is perhaps best known for the power ballad "Sister Christian", which peaked at #5 in early 1984.

After their success waned in the late 1980s, the band split up in 1989 and its members pursued other musical endeavours including both group and solo efforts.[2][3][4] Several members released an album without original singer Jack Blades in the mid-1990s, but the band soon re-united to release two new albums in the latter half of the decade. Despite the departure of original keyboardist Alan Fitzgerald and guitarist Jeff Watson, the band has continued to tour into 2008 and remains very popular in Asian countries including Japan.[5]
