Bm A G
Which Jesus do you follow?
Bm A G
Which Jesus do you serve?
      Bm A G
If Ephesians says to imitate Christ,
    Bm A G
Why do you look so much like the world?

Chorus:
         D G
Cause my Jesus bled and died
   Bm A G
He spent His time with thieves and liars
   D G
He loved the poor and accosted the arrogant
   Bm A G
So which one do you want to be?

Verse 2:
Bm A G
Blessed are the poor in spirit
         Bm A G
Or do we pray to be blessed with the wealth of this land?
Bm A G
Blessed are they that hunger and thirst for righteousness
   Bm A G
Or do we ache for another taste of this world of shifting sand?

Chorus 2:
         D G
Cause my Jesus bled and died for my sins
   Bm A G
He spent His time with thieves and liars
   D G
He loved the poor and accosted the rich
   Bm A G
So which one do you want to be?

Bridge:
G A Bm
Who is this that you follow?
     G A Bm
This picture of the American dream
   G A Bm
If Jesus was here would you walk right by on the other side
   G A Bm
Or fall down and worship at His holy feet
G A Bm
Holy, yeah...

Verse 3:
Bm A G
Pretty blue eyes and curly brown hair and a clear complexion
   Bm A G
Is how you see Him as He dies for your sins
        Bm A G
But the Word says He was battered and scarred or do you miss that part?
    Bm A G
Sometimes I doubt we'd recognize Him

Chorus 3:
         D G
Cause my Jesus bled and died
   Bm A G
He spent His time with thieves and the least of these
   D G
He loved the poor and accosted the comfortable
   Bm A G
So which one do you want to be?

Chorus 4:
         D G
Cause my Jesus would never be accepted in my church
    Bm A G
The blood and dirt on His feet might stain the carpet
       D G
But He reaches for the hurting and despises the proud
      D G
And I think He'd prefer Beale St. to the stained glass crowd
      D G
And I know that He can hear me if I cry out loud

Outro:
                     D
I want to be like my Jesus
                     G
I want to be like my Jesus
                     D
I want to be like my Jesus (hey yeah)
                     G
I want to be like my Jesus (oh oh ohhhh)
      D G
Not a posterchild for American prosperity, but like my Jesus
            D G
You see I'm tired of living for success and popularity
                     D
I want to be like my Jesus
                 G
But I'm not sure what that means to be like You, Jesus
                  D G
Cause You said to live like You, love like You but then You died for me
                  D
Can I be like You Jesus?
                      D
I want to be like you Jesus
                     D
I want to be like my Jesus

About the artist behind My Jesus Chords:

Todd Agnew (Born March 15, 1971 in Dallas, Texas) is a Christian musician and songwriter who has recently appeared in the Contemporary Christian market. His songs primarily consist of a Rock/Indie blend that separates him from most mainstream Contemporary Christian singers. His best-known song to date is a version of "Amazing Grace" called "Grace Like Rain" that was featured on his first album, Grace Like Rain, release in June 2003. Since then, Agnew has released his second album, Reflection of Something, in 2005 and has introduced other popular works like "My Jesus" and "Unchanging One", which are often featured on most Contemporary Christian stations. In late 2006, after two highly acclaimed studio projects (Grace Like Rain, Reflection of Something), he crafted an epic retelling of the Christmas story on his album entitled Do You See What I See? His fourth studio project, Better Questions, released in July 2007 and features the hit single “Our Great God” (a duet featuring fellow Christian artist, Rebecca St. James).

Agnew is featured under Memphis's Ardent Records. He is also known for wearing a t-shirt, jeans, and his feet are bare on almost every album. He performs barefoot as well. Todd is also among the 12 artists selected to be a part of the Big Shiny Planet [UP] Bible Study that was recently released nationwide through LifeWay and Family Christian Stores. Using his song, "Still Has a Hold," Todd elaborates on Romans chapter seven and teaches on the subject of how regardless of your triumphs or your failures, God still has a hold of you.

Agnew is currently engaged to long-time girlfriend Jen. He proposed to her at the final concert of his Better Questions tour in Memphis, TN on September 18, 2007.
