Too Many Angels by Jackson Browne
(C#, A, E) X2
C#mBAE
Looking through some photographs I found inside a book.
C#mBAE
I was taken by a photograph of you.
C#mBAE
There were one or two you that I know you would've liked a little more.
C#mBAE
But they didn't show your spirit quite as true.
BE
You were turning round to see who was behind you.
BE
And I took your childish laughter by surprise.
EC#m
And at the moment my camera happened to find you.
A -G# -F# E
There was just a trace of sorrow in your eyes.
C#mBAE
Now the things that I remember seem so distant and so small.
C#mBAE
Though it hasn't really been that long of time.
C#mBAE
What I was seeing wasn't what was happening at all.
C#mBAE
All though for a while our paths did seem to climb.
BE
And when you see though loves illusion there lies the danger.
BB/ABB/A
And your perfect lover just looks like a perfect fool.
EC#m
And you go running off in search of a perfect stranger.
AF#m (E) A
While the loneliness seems to spring from your life,
A -G# -F# EEsus4
Like a fountain from a pool.
Chorus1:
ABC/BC#mB
Fountain of sorrow, Fountain of life.
ABC/BC#mB
You've known that hollow sound of your own steps in flight.
ABC/BC#mB
You've had to hide sometimes and now you're all right.
EA -G# -F# EEsus4 (X2)
And it's good to see your smiling face tonight.
(Interlude1: C#m,B,A,E) x2
C#mBAE
Now for you and me it couldn't be that had to reach our dreams.
C#mBAE
But that magic feeling never seems to last.
C#mBAE
Well the future's there for anyone to change, but still you know it seems,
C#mBAE
It would be easier sometimes to change the past.
BE
I'm just one or two year and couple of changes behind you.
BE
In my lessons love that's pain and heartaches good
EC#m
Well if you feel to free and you need something to remind you.
AF#m (E) A
There's this loneliness bringing in from your life,
A -G# -F# EEsus4
Like a fountain from a pool.
Chorus1:
Interlude2: C#m, B, A, E, B7, C#m, D9th, A(barr), B(barr)
Chorus2:
ABC/BC#mB
Fountain of sorrow, Fountain of life.
ABC/BC#mB
You've known that hollow sound of your own steps in flight.
ABC/BC#mB
You've had to struggle, you've had to fight.
ABC/BC#mB
To keep understanding and compassion in sight.
ABC/BC#mB
You could be laughing at me, you've got the right.
ABC/BC#mB
But you go on smiling, so clear and so bright.
(Calm to end) ABC/BC#mB (X2)

Jackson Browne - Too Many Angels Chords :: indexed at Ultimate Guitar.
Clyde Jackson Browne (born October 9, 1948) is an American rock singer-songwriter and musician, whose introspective lyrics made him the poster boy of the Southern California confessional singer-songwriter movement of the late 1960s and early 1970s. In 2004, Browne was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by fellow American musical artist and good friend, Bruce Springsteen. Browne also received, in 2004, an honorary Doctorate of Music from Occidental College in Los Angeles, for "a remarkable musical career that has successfully combined an intensely personal artistry with a broader vision of social change and justice".[1]
