Capo 3rd fret

      G
These boots
        C G
Counted off many a band
        C G
Playing one night road house stands
    Em D/F#
For tips and empty rooms

      G
These boots
     C G
Have stood toe to toe
         C G
With the biggest baddest joes
          Em D/F# C
Like they had some things to prove
      G
These boots
            G
Yeah, these boots
          C G
More than once saved my ass
         C G
Like the time they hid that grass
           Em D/F#
From those cops in Tupelo

          G
And these boots
     C G
Have danced with the devil
    C G
And nearly lost that battle
   Em D/F# C
To wild irish rose

D C G
I wore out more soles
       D/F# G
Than I care to count
            C G
I done more stupid things than most
           D
Would dare to

  D C G
I kick myself more times than not
        D/F# Em
For the roads they lead me down
        C G/B D
But the damnedest thing I've ever seen them do
                  C Em D C Em D
Is walking out on you

      G
These boots
       C G
Had to see California
       C G
And an Arizona morning
      Em D/F#
Where God paints the sky

          G
And these boots
       C G
Had to spur that beast in Cheyenne
             C G
Thought that bull'd make me a real man
  Em D/F# C
I still drag that leg sometimes

D C G
I wore out more soles
       D/F# G
Than I care to count
            C G
I done more stupid things than most
           D
Would dare to

  D C G
I kick myself more times than not
        D/F# Em
For the roads they lead me down
        C G/B D
But the damnedest thing I've ever seen them do
                  C Em D C Em D
Is walking out on you

      G
These boots
        C G
Are one step from the door
            C G
They walked out of years before
      Em D/F#
I can almost see her now

      G
These boots
       C G
Oughta kick 'at door aside
      C G
Stomp out my foolish pride
    Em D
But they just turn around

C Em D

           C Em D
Damn these boots
           C Em D
Damn these boots
      C Em D
These boots

C Em D Repeat until end
