SONG FOR YOU - Alexi Murdoch
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tabbed by: Kengus
Here's one with a bit of finger picking. The picking is sort of half-
muted, don't let the notes ring too long. The intro and the verses follow
the same pattern. The trickiest part is perhaps the interlude thing before
the outroish part. Have fun.

VERSE1
E Amaj7* E
So today I wrote a song for you, cause a day can get so long
Amaj7*
And I know it's hard to make it through
E Amaj7*
When you say there's something wrong
VERSE2
E Amaj7* E
So I'm trying to put it right, cause I want to love you with my heart
Amaj7*
All this trying has made me tight
E Amaj7*
And I don't know even where to start
E Amaj7*
Maybe that's a start
VERSE3
E Amaj7*
Before you know it's a simple game
E
That you play filling up your head with rain
Amaj7*
And you know you've been hiding from your pain
E Amaj7*
In the way, in the way you say your name
CHORUS
C#mE/B Amaj7*
And I see you, hiding your face in your hands
C#mE/B Amaj7*
Flying so you won't land
C#mE/B EMb5/A# Amaj7*
You think no one understands
No one understands
INTERLUDE (repeat intro)
E Amaj7* E Amaj7*
VERSE4
E Amaj7*
So you hunch your shoulders and you shake your head
E
And your throat is aching but you swear
Amaj7*
No one hurts you, nothing could be sad
E Amaj7*
Anyway you're not here enough to care
VERSE5
E Amaj7*
And you're so tired you don't sleep at night
E
As your heart is trying to mend
Amaj7*
You keep it quiet but you think you might
E Amaj7*
Disappear before the end
VERSE6
E Amaj7* E
And it's strange that you cannot find any strength to even try
Amaj7*
To find a voice to speak your mind
E Amaj7*
When you do, all you wanna do is cry
E Amaj7*
Well maybe you should cry
CHORUS
C#mE/B Amaj7*
And I see you hiding your face in your hands
C#mE/B Amaj7*
Talking 'bout far-away lands
C#mE/B EMb5/A# Amaj7*
You think no one understands
Listen to my hands

Alexi Murdoch - Song For You Tab :: indexed at Ultimate Guitar.
Alexi Murdoch (born 27 December 1973) is a London-born, Scottish-bred, singer-songwriter. He went to the U.S. to study philosophy at Duke University.
His self-published EP, Four Songs, was released in 2002, becoming the all time No. 1 selling record in CD Baby history. [1] Murdoch's first album, Time Without Consequence, was released on June 6, 2006.
One of Murdoch's most popular songs is "Orange Sky". In an interview, Murdoch said when he took the music to a record company that the recording executive popped the disc into his computer rather than a stereo and then proceeded to stare at the counter on the screen waiting to see how long it took to get to the refrain. The executive's reaction supposedly convinced Murdoch to take the indie route of releasing his music.[citation needed]
"Orange Sky" has been used in a number of television and movie productions, including The OC, House, Prison Break, Ugly Betty, Ladder 49, "The Russell Girl", and a trailer for the film Paradise Now. The same song was also featured in the movie Garden State, although it did not appear on the official soundtrack. More recently, the song was featured on a Season 1 episode of Dirty Sexy Money. Another song of the album, "All My Days", was featured in a Season 4 episode of The OC and in Season 4 of Grey's Anatomy. The song "Home" was featured on a Season 2 episode of Prison Break.
His song "Through the Dark" can be heard during the end credits of Gone Baby Gone.
